Mount View Estate is nestled in the foothills of the beautiful Mount View Mountain Range. Mount View Estate was first planted over 30 years ago in 1971 by Harry Tulloch. The Vineyard site was chosen for its rich basalt volcanic soils (which is considered to be some of the best soils in the Valley). The combination of these wonderful soils, mature vines and the wineries dedication to producing High Quality Wines have made Mount View Estate one of the Hunters Most Award Winning Wineries.

Continuing in the tradition set by Harry Tulloch, Mount View Estate is family owned and operated by the Burgess Family. Selecting only the finest fruit from our small vineyard and making exceptional quality has paid off as James Haliday, in his 2005 Wine Companion rated Mount View Estate in the Top 10 Wineries in The Hunter Valley.

The vineyard is planted with traditional premium Hunter Varieties including Semillon, Chardonnay, Verdelho (Mount View Estate being on of the first vineyards in the Hunter to plant this variety), Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon as well as Pinot Noir and Merlot. Mount View Estate also produces specialty dessert wines such as Liqueur Verdelho, Tawny Port and Trophy Muscat - the perfect end to any meal.

In 2004 Mount View estate purchased and adjacent vineyard 'Limestone Creek' that has very similar 'Terroir' and was first planted in 1982. Limestone Creek has a 20 year history of producing fine wines and is the perfect addition to the Mount View vineyard.

To maintain a very high standard all of our grapes are hand picked and the wines are hand made in our boutique winery on the property. Mount View Estate wines are only available through the Cellar Door or our Wine Club that has been specifically designed for the wine lover.
