2023 Estate Durif Shiraz
An exceptional vintage that showcases the Durif grape in its fully ripe and flavourful spectrum, making it a cherished component of this estate's signature blend. All fruit was sourced from our own vineyards, the grafted Durif vines and the middle block Shiraz vines. Kept as separate parcels, both crushed, destemmed and chilled to tank for a short cold soak before being inoculated. After a gentle drain and press, they were racked to barrel to carry out malolactic fermentation. Put to older French oak for maturation over 9 months before being blended at 65% Durif, 35% Shiraz.
